MUZAFFARGARH: Former MPA Makhdoom Syed Abdullah Shah Bukhari died of kidney failure in a private hospital in Multan on Sunday. He was 67.

He was shifted to the hospital in unconscious state on Saturday night.

Bukhari was an agriculturalist. He became member of the Punjab Assembly in 1988 first time and then in 1988, 1990 and 1997.

Bukhari was a PML-N leader but also remained with the PML-Q.

He was a favourite for the district chairmanship seat from Jatoi tehsil.

Funeral prayers for him will be held at his native town of Kandh Shareef in Jatoi tehsil on Monday.

He is survived by two sons and one daughter. His son Syed Haroon Sultan Bukhari is a provincial minister and Makhdoom Basit Sultan Bukhari remained an MNA.
