KARACHI: Two employees of DawnNews were injured in a shooting incident by unidentified gunmen in the Landhi 89 area of the metropolis on Wednesday night.

The injured employees have been shifted to the hospital after receiving initial first aid, reported DawnNews.

DawnNews reported that Hakim Khan and Yousaf Khan have been transferred to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for further treatment.

One of the employees has been shot in the neck, while the other received a gunshot wound to the leg.

"The injured Hakim Khan and Yousaf Khan have been brought to JPMC. One sustained wound on the neck and the other has received gun shot injury on the leg," said Dr. Seemin Jamali, head of emergency at JPMC.

IG Sindh has taken notice notice of the incident.

Last year in November, unidentified gunmen attacked a DawnNews Digital Satellite News Gathering (DSNG) van in the Essa Nagri area of Karachi, injuring one staff member.

Attackers riding motorcycles fired shots at the DSNG van near Essa Nagri, leaving technician Hassan Mateen severely injured.
