ISLAMABAD: Two bodies were found in different places and a police officer was killed in a road accident on Tuesday, the police said.

A decomposed body was found in a ditch on Jinnah Avenue near the Centaurus Mall, the police said. Passersby had spotted the body and informed the police, who moved the body to the hospital.

The body is yet to be identified and is said to be of a man in his mid-50s. The police said the victim may have died more than a week ago.

The body has been buried in the H-11 graveyard temporarily.

In an unrelated incident, the body of a man was found in a hotel in Blue Area after the hotel management informed the police. The body was taken to the hospital for legal formalities.

The victim was identified as Syed Liaqatullah Shah, a native of Mardan, had come to Islamabad three days ago and had been staying in the hotel during that time.

The cause of death is yet to be established.

Separately, a police constable was killed after he was run-over by a vehicle in F-10. Mohammad Ayoub was hit by a Land Cruiser in the early hours of Tuesday. The constable sustained multiple injuries and died in the hospital.
