KARACHI: Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari, the youngest child of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and co-chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party Asif Ali Zardari, on Wednesday visited the families of party workers who were killed in the 2007 Karsaz bomb attacks, said a statement.

It said that Aseefa visited the homes of three killed workers in Gizri, Mahmoodabad and Manzoor Colony with deputy speaker of the Sindh Assembly Shehla Raza and Senator Saeed Ghani.

“Families of martyrs have high regards in the PPP as we ourselves are also members of the family of martyrs,” the statement quoted her as saying while talking to families of the victims. “Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari visited the families of martyrs of Karsaz bomb blasts to personally meet their loved ones and reassure them that the PPP, its leadership and workers will never forget them.”

Ms Bhutto-Zardari drove to the families of Tahir Narejo in Gizri, Ayaz in Manzoor Colony and Mohammad Rafi in Mehmoodabad and also inquired about their problems, including education of their children, added the statement.

“Families of martyrs received the daughter of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto affectionately and appreciated her for remembering them,” it said. “She spent some time with each family and told them that the martyrs sacrificed their lives for democracy, rights of common people and they will live forever in our hearts.”
