SWABI: District Police Officer Sajjad Khan on Tuesday claimed that one of the killers of six people of a family had been arrested. Six

persons were killed and nine others injured when gunmen opened fire on a van going to Peshawar a few days ago.

The DPO told mediapersons here that the arrested man, Arshad, disclosed during interrogation the names of his three other accomplices, who were still at large.

The police officer said that Arshad along with his accomplices, Aman Khan, Ayaz Khan and Malang had opened fire over the van.

Mr Khan said a committee constituted after the incident traced the culprits through an FIR registered into the killing of one Irfan, son of Shah Nazar, in May 2013. He said the case was registered against Sajjad of Yar Hussain village.

However, he said the family of the deceased was convinced that another man, Yasir Khan, who was also involved in the incident, was not named in the FIR. The police officer said Yasir later went to Saudi Arabia.

The DPO said that the killers thought that Yasir had come to the village and was going to Peshawar along with his family to catch a flight for Saudi Arabia.

The DPO said that the remaining three accused would be arrested soon.
