LAKKI MARWAT: The district administration on Tuesday launched anti-encroachment campaign on old katchery road and demolished illegally built shops and houses near the government city hospital.

Additional deputy commissioner Ihsanullah Khan supervised the drive.

The municipal workers with the help of excavators and other heavy machinery razed the illegal infrastructures.

The busiest old katchery road leads to government city hospital and government girls’ college and connects the urban locality with Manjiwala link road.

The people had already vacated shops and houses a day before start of the drive as the administration had served them notices in this regard.

The team didn’t face any resistance during the operation. An official said the campaign against encroachments would continue. — Correspondent
