Rangers` uniform

Published October 4, 2010

THIS is apropos of the letter 'Rangers uniform' (Sept 25).

We, the Pakistan Rangers, Sindh appreciate your compliments regarding our doing a good job in maintaining law and order in the metropolis. The uniform put on by Rangers is actually a combat dress designed/tailored to suit operational requirement on the borders in line with the uniform of the Pakistan Army.

Here in Karachi and elsewhere, the Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, is performing internal security duties to aid civil power, the task being different to the operational one. Rangers help police in maintaining law and order.

Like the khaki uniform in the army, Rangers wear light green uniforms for office work. T-shirts help troops in performing their duties in a more agile manner in the hot and humid weather of the city. However, wearing full-sleeved shirts will be considered and reviewed.
