ISLAMABAD The exhibition of urban landscape imagery by Ahmed Habib entitled 'Splashes of Life' is attracting a large number of local and foreign visitors in Saidpur village.

Organised by the Nomad Art Gallery, the exhibition carries a collection of 25 oil paintings based on an experimental approach of the artist that portrays urban landscape imagery while a few of the paintings have visualised the artists own poetry.

Ahmad Habib is a painter and a poet who has created diversity in images with the use of colors in bold, confident brush strokes in the recent collection.

He paints the dwellings of his native Potohar region and has produced fresh, unique and skillfully created works.

His paintings are visually appealing, dramatic and romanticise through symbolism derived from all aspects of life.

Talking to APP, Ahmad Habib said, 'This time I have experimented with the application of the medium as the oil colors are applied with the technique of water color.'

The architecture in paintings is used as pattern while the splashes of colors are controlled in compositions, he said.

Filling his palette with inspirations taken from nature, the artist uses colored spots at different places in his works to create a movement in the viewers' eye balls.

The paintings which are the renderings of his poems are presented with different mesmerising titles including, 'We Were Just Drawing', 'Age Difference', 'Birds day and a Lonely man,' and a series of four paintings 'With My Self.'

'Birds Day and a Lonely Man' depicts the artists life in which he portrays a passage carrying ups, downs, bridges, light and darkness to show different shades of life at different stages.

His landscape paintings are titled as 'Moon Lite', 'Beyond the Mustards' and Ducks in the Pond'.

The exhibition will continue till May 26th.
