Bahauddin Zakariya’s urs begins

MULTAN, Feb 1: The three-day Urs ceremonies of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya and Hazrat Khawaja Suleman Taunsvi began on Sunday in Multan and Taunsa Sharif, respectively.

The 769th Urs of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya Suharwardi started at his shrine situated at the Fortress.

Sajjada Nashin Shah Mahmood Qureshi performed the ghusal ceremony of the mausoleum with rose water. Federal Minister Pir Noorul Haq Qadri, Syed Wajahat Hussain Gilani, Sajjada Nashin of Khawaja Ghulam Farid Kotmithan Khawaja Moinuddin Mehbob Koreja, Pir Shujaat Hasnain Qureshi and Pir Muhammad Ahmed Qureshi also attended the ghusal ceremony.

To pay tribute to the saint, a seminar will be held on Monday (today) at the Bahauddin Zakariya University which is being jointly organized by Seraiki and Islamic Studies departments.

The 246th annual Urs of Hazrat Khawaja Shah Muhammad Suleman Taunsvi also began on Sunday at Taunsa Sharif.

Seminar: Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) will hold a seminar to highlight the services of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya for the cause of Islam here at MS Hall on Monday (today).

Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi will preside over the seminar while Multan Commissioner Muhammad Ali Gardezi will be chief guest on this occasion.

Sahibzada Dr Sajidur Rehman of International Islamic University, Dr Aslam Ansari, Dr Muhammad Akram, Dr Abdul Qadus Suhaib, director, Islamic Research Centre will deliver lectures on different aspects of the services of Bahauddin Zakariya for the cause of Islam in the sub-continent.
