KARACHI, March 10: Mufti Mohammad Naeem of Jamia Binoria Al-Aalmia (Binoria University International) on Saturday said that madressahs were not preaching extremism or fanaticism to its students.

Speaking to a delegation of Imagination First USA, which visited the institution, he said that the students along with religious teachings were also provided education in other subjects like IT and other technical skills, etc.

He said that the madressah students were not involved in any anti-social activities, but if somebody after passing out from the madressah took part in anti-social activities then the institution could not be held responsible.

He said that the under a calculated strategy misinformation was being spread after the 9/11 regarding madressahs to discredit these institutions. The delegation, led by Imran Raza, comprised a journalist Ms Irina and Rahat Ali Khan, also asked various questions from Mufti Naeem besides visiting various departments of the madressah.
