CHARSADDA: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao on Sunday accused Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government of failing to deliver during its 13 years in power.

Addressing a gathering here, he alleged that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was facing worsening law and order, rising terrorism, unemployment, inflation and a decline in public services.

Several PTI workers including Mohammad Ali, Jan Alam, Ibrahim Khan and Nasir Khan announced joining the QWP on this occasion.

Welcoming the new entrants into party fold, Mr Sherpao said that the QWP would continue to work for the protection of the province’s interests.

Mr Sherpao claimed that the province had entered a critical phase due to what he described as poor governance and administrative failures.

He said the deteriorating security situation, increasing terrorist incidents, corruption and the weakening of the education and health sectors had created serious hardships for the people.

He alleged that despite governing the province for more than a decade, the PTI had failed to fulfil its promises of ensuring peace, prosperity and development.

Instead, he said, incidents of terrorism had continued to increase, leaving people feeling insecure while the provincial government had also failed to discharge its constitutional responsibilities.

Mr Sherpao claimed that residents of southern districts, the merged tribal districts and the Malakand division continued to suffer from inadequate infrastructure and a lack of basic services including healthcare, education, roads and employment opportunities.
