DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two laborers died after losing consciousness due to suspected oxygen deficiency while cleaning a sewer in the Garaha Bakhsha area here on Thursday, Rescue 1122 officials said.

According to an emergency report issued by Rescue 1122, the incident occurred during a routine cleaning work when the workers fell unconscious and collapsed inside the sewer.

Rescue teams reached the site shortly after receiving information and launched an operation. The workers were retrieved from the sewer; however, both were found dead at the scene.

One of the deceased was identified as Mohammad Saleem, son of Ramzan, a resident of Mohallah Khudrianwala, Tank, currently residing in Basti Darkhana Wali. The identity of the second victim could not be immediately ascertained.

The bodies were shifted to a hospital after completing legal formalities. Further proceedings are underway, officials said.
