LAHORE: The Punjab University and JS Bank have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to digitise university fee challans through Zindigi’s Raast Dynamic QR system, marking a significant step towards digital transformation and financial innovation and becoming the first public sector university to use this technology.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at the Vice Chancellor’s Office.

On this occasion, PU VC Prof Dr Muhammad Ali Shah, DG SES Prof Dr Rehan Sadiq, Chairman Hall Council Prof Dr Muhammad Akber Khan, Treasurer Tasneem Kamran, Additional Treasure Rao Tahir, representative of State Bank Mr. Bilal and senior officials of JS Bank (Zindagi) were present.

Under the agreement, PU will implement Zindigi’s Raast Dynamic QR solution for fee payments, enabling students to pay their tuition and other university dues digitally through mobile banking applications. The system will allow real-time payment processing, reduce manual handling of challans, and ensure greater transparency and efficiency in financial transactions.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Muhammad Ali Shah said the PU is committed to adopting modern technologies to improve administrative efficiency and student facilitation. He stated that digitising fee challans through Raast QR would make the payment process faster, secure, and more convenient for students and parents. He added that the initiative aligns with the university’s broader vision of promoting a cashless and paperless campus, minimizing queues at banks, and streamlining financial operations.

The representatives of JS Bank highlighted that Zindigi’s Raast Dynamic QR is a secure and State Bank-compliant digital payment solution that enables instant interbank transfers.
