SUKKUR: The Jaffar Express was on Saturday halted at Jacobabad station once again due to a security threat ahead while it was on its way to Quetta from Peshawar.

The journey of Jaffar Express passengers continues to be disrupted off and on since the train was hijacked on March 11, 2025 by terrorists. It came under terrorist attacks in September and October 2025 as well, and also escaped several such attacks during the period.

In order to ensure the safety and security of passengers and crew, the train is often halted at Jacobabad station before it is allowed to move into Balochistan.

On Saturday, security forces sounded an alert after which the train was halted at the station and its passengers were offloaded. Their paid-up fare was refunded.
