New Motorway Police chief assumes office

ISLAMABAD: The newly appointed Inspector General (IG) of National Highway & Motorway Police (NHMP), Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, formally took over the charge of his office on Monday.

Previously served as an Additional IG of Punjab Police, he has held several important positions within the Pakistan Police Service and is widely recognised in the police service for his professional competence and integrity.

The new NHMP chief reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the institution, upholding high professional standards, and ensuring quality public service. He emphasised that every possible measure would be taken for the welfare and well-being of the department’s officers and staff.

He directed officers to ensure timely assistance to travellers on national highways, protect lives and property of citizens and work diligently to prevent road accidents.

Earlier, upon his arrival at the Central Police Office, Islamabad, he was presented the guard of honour and given a detailed briefing on various departmental matters.
