SUKKUR: A 10-year-old girl died and five of her family members fainted after they ate poisonous food in Khan Mohammad Gurjani village near Tangwani town, Kandhkot-Kashmore district, on Saturday.

Relatives said that Farooq Gujrani’s family ate some samosas with bread and fell unconscious immediately afterwards. Farooq’s 10-year-old daughter, Azima, died instantly. The food was not freshly cooked, it was stale and might have become poisonous, they said.

Five family members of the victim, including Samira, Babra and Latifan Gujrani who had fallen unconscious were rushed to a private hospital in the city where doctors reported improvement in their condition, they said.
