ISLAMABAD: While a number of supporters from various parties were severely affected by the suspension of cellular services, as they were unable to receive the SMS regarding voting from 8300, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) supporters faced no difficulties because the PTI stalls had proper arrangements to obtain voter details.

A number of supporters from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and other parties also visited PTI stalls to obtain voting details.

An official from PTI told Dawn that the party had anticipated the suspension of phone services.

“We developed a Rabta App that contained data for all voters in Pakistan. Moreover, we shared the data of every constituency with PTI candidates, and those candidates, in turn, shared the data of their constituencies with their supporters in camp offices. We did not require the SMS service to obtain voter details,” he said.

On the other hand, Muhammad Wasim, Fahad Sheikh, Idrees Khan, Abdul Majeed, and others faced inconvenience at different camps as they were unable to obtain details of their votes.

Mr Idrees, while talking to Dawn, mentioned that at the PML-N camp, they were having difficulty obtaining voter details and were mostly relying on voter lists to check the votes.
