NAROWAL: Police arrested two youths on Sunday for kidnapping, raping and killing their friend in the Shatabgarh area of Sialkot.
According to the police, on Jan 5, Sameer Tariq, 17, had gone out of his house on a motorcycle but did not return. The Aguki Police Station registered a case on the complaint of his sister Kiran Shahzadi.
Sialkot District Police Officer Muhammad Hassan Iqbal formed an investigation team, headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Sabir Hussain Chhata, to immediately search for the teenager.
Aguki police station had registered an FIR of missing youth on the request of Kiran Shehzadi. After registration of the case, Inspector Asghar Ali started interrogating two friends of Sameer, identified as Shah Noor and Khanan Abid, after finding some clues with the help of human intelligence sources and modern technology.

DPO Iqbal told Dawn that during the interrogation, both the suspects confessed to committing the crime. According to them, they kidnapped Sameer and raped him. After committing rape, they killed their friend and threw his body in a deserted area.
The DPO said the police had recovered the victim’s body on identification of the suspects who had been taken into custody. The body was handed over to Sameer’s family after a post-mortem and legal proceedings.
