TOBA TEK SINGH: In an encounter with the Pirmahal police, one gunman and two police constables were injured when three gunmen riding a car ran over them when the cops signalled to stop them.

The police said that on a tip-off that three outlaws riding a car, snatched from Muhammad Iqbal, of Chak 753-GB, were coming to Pirmahal from Darkhana, the police picketed twin-canal road. When robbers arrived there, the police hailed them but they ran over them leaving constables Mujahid Ali and Muhammad Nadeem injured. They also opened fire, which was also retaliated and as a result, the gunmen abandoned their car and two of them fled while one of them was found wounded in the car. He was shifted to the Pirmahal Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. The injured gunman was identified as Bilal Majeed, of Chak 397-JB. The police say he was injured by the bullets fired by his own accomplices.

He is wanted by the police in a number of robberies. The police are conducting raids to arrest the other accomplices.

ATTACK: To take revenge for the divorce of their daughter, a man of Safdarabad (Sheikhupura) with his wife and four other accomplices attacked on Wednesday the house of their former son-in-law in Chak 84-JB, Faisalabad, and shot dead one person and injured two others.

Complainant Jumma Khan stated in an FIR registered under sections 302, 324, 148 and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code by Thikriwala police that his nephew Muhammad Younis divorced Ruqayya Bibi. To take revenge, Ruqayya’s father Muhammad Mansha, mother Sakina Bibi and four others arrived at Younis’s house late on Tuesday when the family was asleep.

They started an indiscriminate fire, leaving the complainant’s relatives Muhammad Nasir, Mohammad Imran and Umer Farooq injured critically. Younis was not home.

The three injured were rushed to the Allied Hospital but Nasir was received dead at the hospital. The police are trying to arrest the suspects in Sheikhupura.

Soon after the attack and murder in the house of the complainant, the Dijkot police raided another house in the same village to recover narcotics, but villagers offered resistance saying that the police were also accomplices of the killers and they held a constable hostage, however, more policemen were called from the Thikriwala police and the Dijkot police to rescue the cop.

KILLED: A man killed his brother on Wednesday in Chak 287 GB. The Rajana police said Khadim Hussain and Khan Muhammad quarrelled over a dispute on the installation of a water pump at their farmland.

Khadim hit his younger brother Khan with a wooden bar as a result he was critically wounded. He was rushed to the DHQ hospital where doctors referred him to the Faisalabad Allied Hospital where he succumbed to his wound.

The police have arrested the accused.
