KARACHI: Police on Friday recovered 10 grenades and eight detonators from a shop in a Malir market.

Korangi SSP Faisal Bashir Memon told Dawn that acting on a tip-off police and Rangers rushed to the Liaquat market in Saudabad, cordoned off the area and called bomb disposal squad (BDS).

He said that two cartons containing grenades were found on the roof of a shop.

The SSP said both the cartons contained total 10 hand-grenades and eight detonators. He said the BDS officials defused the grenades.

No case was registered till late in the night as police were investigating the matter.
