TAXILA: Calling the present parliamentary form of government “a complete failure”, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said he supported the presidential form of government in the country as this would end “horse trading, floor crossing and Changa Manga politics”.
He was addressing participants of a ceremony held at the Rescue 1122 emergency station in Hassanabdal on Friday. Terming the present form of government “the reason for a political mess in the country”, he said he in his personal capacity supported the presidential form of government.
“Today, those who are in parliament by taking votes in the name of PTI and Imran Khan are indulged in horse trading and to curb such a tendency in politics, there is dire need to overhaul the governance system in the country,” he added.
Talking about the no-confidence motion against the prime minister, Mr Aslam said: “We have the support of members in sufficient numbers. The government will fail the no-trust motion with the help of people’s support. The opposition is playing a ‘no confidence’ game just to protect their vested interest and wants to divert the government’s attention from real issues.”
The no-confidence motion day will be remarkable when all coalition groups will be standing and supporting openly the incumbent government, he said, adding that the prime minister would continue to stand by his principles.
“I assure you all today that Imran Khan neither blackmails anyone nor gets blackmailed like other political leaders,” the special assistant said, calling on people to come out in large numbers to support PM Khan at D-Chowk.
He said the building of the station was completed some four years ago but it was not functional.
He said necessary rescue vehicles, including fire tenders and ambulances as well as necessary staff, would also be deployed here to provide rescue facilities to the residents of the area.
