RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has increased the timings of outdoor-patient departments (OPD) at the three government-run hospitals of the garrison city.

The new timings will come into effect from (today) under which the OPDs will remain open from 8am to 4pm.

According to a notification issued by the Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department, the timing of OPDs had been re-fixed in all government-run hospitals across the province to facilitate maximum number of patients.

Rawalpindi Medical University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Umer told Dawn that necessary measures had been made in Holy Family Hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital and District Headquarters Hospital to enforce the new timings as per the directives of the provincial government.

He said timings of allied facilities like laboratory and other services would also be increased.
