BAJAUR: A man was killed and four others were wounded in separate road accidents in different areas of the Bajaur tribal district on Saturday, Rescue 1122 officialsand residents said.

They said that the first accident occurred near the Sadiqabad town when a speeding vehicle hit a motorcyclist on the Khar-Peshawar Road.

They said that the victim identified as Abdul Basit, 22, was critically wounded in the accident and died while being shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Khar.

They added that the driver of the vehicle, said to belong to Rescue 1122’s Khar station, was arrested soon after the accident.

In another accident occurred in Badi Samoor area of the Khar tehsil, two motorcyclists were seriously wounded after their bikes overturned after skidding on the road,” a statement issued by the Rescue 1122 in Khar said.

The wounded persons, identified as Janat Gul, 30, and Owais Khan, 13, were shifted to the district headquarters hospital.

Similarly, two persons suffered injuries when a car and a tractor-trolley overturned in Gardai area of Utmankhel tehsil and Nawidand area of Khar tehsil.

The Rescue 1122 teams shifted the wounded to the district headquarters hospital after providing them first aid.

The rescuers said that the car overturned on the Khar-Dir Road, blocking it for about two hours.
