LOWER DIR: A jirga of local elders and political leaders resolved a blood feud between two families in Ouch here on Thursday.

The jirga was led by Gujjar Qaumi Movement (GQM) chief Haji Zarin Khan Gujjar. The rival families forgave each other during a function attended by hundreds of people.

The feud between the families of Mohammad Ayub and Liaquat Ali Khan turned into a friendship and they promised to live like brothers in future.

The enmity had worsened when one man from the one side and two from the other including a lawyer were killed during an exchange of fire on March 27 this year.

The function was addressed by Haji Zarin Khan Gujjar, MNA Syed Mehboob Shah, Chakdara Bar Association president Sarfraz Khan, former senator Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan, ANP central vice president Hussain Shah Yousafzai, former federal minister for state Malik Azmat Khan, Haji Mohammad Sadiq Khan, Amanullah Khan, Ikram Ghani Bacha, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, SHO Habib Shah and Hidayatul Mulk Bacha.

QWP: Qaumi Watan Party provincial chairman Sikandar Khan Sherpao has said that PPP and ANP created rift in Pakistan Democratic Movement.

Addressing a workers convention here the other day, he said that his party workers would participate in the PDM rally to be held in Swat on July 4.

QWP vice chairman Nasrullah Khan, provincial deputy general secretary Dr Farooq, Akhunzada Sikandar, Liaqat Akash and others also spoke on the occasion.

PML-N: Former chief minister and PML-N leader Peer Sabir Shah has said people will tolerate the present incompetent government.

He was talking to local elders after offering condolence on the death of Malik Ayub Khan’s daughter in Miskini here the other day. Hundreds of youth and elders of Mishwani tribe welcomed him on his arrival in Miskini Dara.

Mr Shah alleged that Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was involved in razing Gujjar Secretariat in Swat. He demanded of the government to reconstruct the office of Gujjars.
