LAHORE: The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) on Monday announced the development of Pakistan’s first electric vehicle with a private organization.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was organised to unveil the concept design of the car at Tevta Secretariat on Monday. Punjab Minister Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal was the chief guest.

He said Tevta has changed the mode of conventional technical education to modern digital-based technical education. He said that the development of this electric vehicle will be a paradigm shift for the automotive sector as well as technical education in the country.

Tevta Chairperson Ali Salman Siddique said the authority was implementing the Vision 2023 successfully and would play its role in the development of Pakistan’s first electric vehicle.

He explained that the initiative will not only provide training and job opportunities to our students but it will also be important for the country’s development.

Dice Foundation Chairperson Khurshid Qureshi said that the skilled workforce of Tevta can play its role in the development of the vehicle.
