Every year, most of us make resolutions to bring changes in our lives or reach a certain goal, some of which we accomplish and some we cannot.

If you are among the ones who make resolutions, here is a nifty little craft to remind you of your goals. The resolutions can be planned long-term, that is to reach them any time of the year and can be short-term, like monthly. We are making a chart month-wise.

So if you have a long list, divide it month-wise and on the first day of a month, see what you have planned for that month. This will keep you on track and you will be able to accomplish all that you had set out for yourself at the beginning of 2021.

Things you need:

  1. Hardboard (A-4 size)

  2. Coloured paper (A-4 size)

  3. Pieces of coloured papers (12 squares; 3-inches from all sides)

  4. Coloured strings (three or four) (optional)

  5. Markers

  6. Glue stick

  7. Scissors

  8. Stamps or small stickers

Directions:

  1. Put glue on an A-4-sized coloured paper and paste it on the hardboard, make a boundary of any other colour, pictures 2 and 3.

  2. Cut 12 squares of 3x3-inches from all sides to make the envelope, picture 4.

  3. For those of you who don’t know how to make a simple envelope: join each corner of the square piece of paper to its centre, as shown in picture 5.

  4. Bring the bottom corner a bit up to meet the crease of the upper fold; fold this corner inside, see pictures 6 and 7.

  5. Make 12 such envelops for each month from different coloured papers, picture 8.

  6. Write your monthly goals or resolutions on any other piece of paper, picture 9.

  7. After writing your resolution for the month, put it inside the envelope and seal it with a sticker, pictures 10, 11 and 12.

  8. Arrange the envelopes on the hardboard, and write on top, “My New Year Resolutions: 2021”; also write the names of the months on top of each envelop, picture 13

You can decorate your resolutions chart in various ways, by using strings, stickers, stones and beads, but remember to place it somewhere where it can remind you of your plans.

A very happy New Year to you all!
