South Africans mourn a metre apart as Covid-19 curbs funerals

Township funerals, usually extravagant affairs in South Africa, have been scaled back by grieving families who forgo some cherished traditions in order to comply with coronavirus restrictions, according to a report by Reuters.

Vigils before interment have been banned. Funerals are limited to 50 mourners — still more than the 20 allowed in Nigeria or the 15 in Kenya.
