QUETTA: Three labourers, two of them brothers, died after inhaling gas while cleaning a well in Duki district of Balochistan on Wednesday.

According to Levies officials, the incident took place in a house in the Pash-Morh area when four members of a family went deep inside the well for cleaning it. Three of them died after inhaling the poisonous gas accumulated inside the well, while the fourth man fell unconscious.

Levies personnel took the victims to the district hospital where doctors confirmed the death of three men.

“All the three persons died after inhaling poisonous gas accumulated in the well,” hospital officials said.

The condition of another man who was brought unconscious is serious, they added. The victims were identified as Abdul Khaliq, Abdul Razzaq and Khan Mohammad.

Levies officials handed over the bodies to their families after autopsy and completion of other medico-legal formalities.
