PATNA: The Working Committee of the Bihar Provincial Muslim League which met here last evening [Oct 17] through a resolution deplored the “utterance made by Lord Linlithgow in laying emphasis on his pet scheme of the All-India Federation at the recent session of the Chamber of Princes” and pointed out that “no scheme short of the Muslim demand of self-determination as envisaged in the Lahore Resolution shall be accepted to the Muslim India and that any attem­pt in going back upon the scheme and from the solemn pledge contained in the August 1940 resolution shall be resisted by the Muslims of Bihar”.

The Committee decided to observe November 5 as “the Bengal Relief Day” and through a resolution appealed to the Muslims of Bihar “to come forward with more effective help as the help so far sent was not enough to meet the serious and unprecedented calamity”.

[Meanwhile, as reported from New Delhi,] It is understood that during the period from September 1 to October 5, the quantity of foodgrains supplied to districts in distress total about 19,000 tons. The average for the previous six months is 8,000 tons per month.—Dawn Delhi
