This is one of my favourite crafts, and it is as amazing as it sounds. You can surprise anyone by giving a message through an unbroken egg.

However, as it is a food item, you must take permission from your mum to use one. You can ask her to give you and egg she is about to use for breakfast, you can keep the insides in a bowl, give it back to your mum and use the shell for your craft.

Directions:

  1. Make a tiny hole on the upper or the lower side of the egg. Be careful not to break the whole egg, picture 2.

  2. Take the yolk and white out in a separate bowl through the hole you just made. You have to be patient while doing it, picture 3.

  3. When all the white and yolk is out, wash the egg gently under the tap.

  4. Leave it for at least a day to dry completely. If the inside is damp, you won’t get the desired result, picture 4.

  5. When completely dry, make designs with a pencil. You can make polka dots, zigzag or just lines, picture 5.

  6. Colour half the egg first and let it dry, picture 6.

  7. Colour the remaining according to the pattern you have chosen, picture 7.

  8. Write your message on a piece of paper, it could be birthday or congratulations, etc. picture 8.

  9. Roll it tightly and tie a knot with a thread, picture 10.

  10. Slide it inside the hole in the egg very carefully, picture 11.

  11. Put some confetti and glitters inside too, pictures 12 and 13.

  12. Seal the hole with a small piece of paper tape, picture 14.

  13. Colour that area accordingly and let it dry, pictures 15.

Your egg with a secret message is ready to surprise anyone you want.
