Holders India finally named their 15-member squad for next month's Champions Trophy in England and Wales after initially delaying the announcement amid a revenue sharing disagreement with the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Unhappy with the new revenue model, which considerably slashes their share from global events in the 2015-23 cycle, India failed to submit a squad by an April 25 deadline, triggering panic among advertisers.

Several members of the Indian cricket board (BCCI) were in favour of pulling out of the tournament but court-appointed administrators, who are currently supervising BCCI operations, were against such drastic moves.

The top eight sides in the world rankings compete in the Champions Trophy with India winning the last edition in 2013.

India, who begin their Group B campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan at Birmingham on June 4, named the following squad on Monday.

Squad:

Virat Kohli (captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammad Shami, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Manish Pandey.

@Not_SUrprised LOL, India did not do it out of sympathy for PCB or for other poor boards. It could be generating more than 70% revenue on its own, but can it generate even half the amount if it boycotts all ICC events in future? Will the cricket ever remain the same if most poor boards go down the path of Zimbabwe, Kenya or West Indies (compared to their past)...and in next 10 years we only have 3-4 countries playing good competitive cricket? The selfish ways of cricket authorities is the reason why competitive cricket is confined to 8-9 countries only...first it was the greediness of England/Australia, now it is India's. Europe generates 90% of football revenue in the world, but a somewhat sensible FIFA has ensured the poor African and South American countries are not left out, and this way football world cup is more diverse and competitive than any other sport.

Unfortunately, I can already see the hand writing on the wall for the Pak India game. India will bat first, will lose a few quick wickets. Then our bowlers will get hit all over the park and India will recover in the middle, only to be restricted to a very gettable score. With high hopes of finally beating India at a major championship, we will all sit back in anticipation. Oh oh..... here comes the chu chu train...In come the batsmen, out they go next over playing horrible hoiks, trying to be the hero of the day. Another chance to beat India, another heartache. Every time Pakistan plays, I am 100% convinced they will win regardless of the opposition. Maybe it's because I love my country. At my old age, when will I ever learn?

@Rizwan hamid- USA Don't be dishearten mate, after all it is just a game. :). If I remember correctly, Champions trophy is the only ICC tournament in which Pakistan did beat India in the past. I would like to see a hard fought game rather than a one way affair, and may the better team win.

@Rizwan hamid- USA Sir, this is just normal cricket match. I don't think cricketers on the field really take it to their heart or embarrass opponents - only fans are fighting and losing sleep over it. Cricket is a gentlemen game. Many times Pak won comfortably. It is just that Pak domestic set up is not at its best now. With talent around they will have their own turn to win matches, be it against India or anyone. Disgracing Pak cricketers not ideal. Respect from India

BCCI was going to send a notice to ICC to withdraw from the tournament, but was stopped by Administrator appointed by the Supreme Court to supervise Indian cricket. The Administrator wanted all 30 state units to make a unanimous decision, ordered them to select the team immediately, and threatened to take the issue to the Supreme Court if any decision was taken that was detrimental to the Indian cricket. He also said that 100 million more dollars offered by the ICC to BCCI was enough and BCCI can make more money by playing more bilateral series. This is actually a political war between Shashank Manohar, a fair man and Srinivas, a dirty politician
