MUZAFFARGARH: The Alipur Saddar police on Tuesday registered a case against five people and arrested three of them for unleashing dogs on a farmer.

Raheem Bakhsh was mauled to death by dogs on Monday at Mauza Fatehpur, Alipur tehsil, about 100 kilometres from Muzaffargarh city.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif ordered the police to arrest the suspects and DPO Rai Zameerul Haq assigned job to a team which arrested Mukhtar Husain, Peeran Ditta and Qadir Bakhsh.

The police registered a case against five suspects two of who escaped the raid.

On Monday, landlord Karam Husain unleashed a pack of dogs on Raheem Bakhsh over an alleged water theft issue.

The family said the landlord accused Raheem of stealing his water and first they exchanged harsh words and then Karam ordered his servant to throw Raheem in front of his dogs.

The dogs mauled him and he died on way to hospital. The body was handed to the heirs after postmortem.
