PESHAWAR: Two security personnel were injured on Thursday in a bomb blast near the Pak Afghan border in Mohmand Agency.

According to official sources, the security forces' vehicle was targeted with a remote-controlled Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near the Elbow Kandaow area of Mohmand Agency.

Sources also confirmed that the vehicle was damaged in the blast and that two personnel were injured as a result of the attack.

Following the explosion, security forces launched a search operation in the area.

Mohmand Agency is one of Pakistan’s seven tribal agencies near the Afghan border which are rife with homegrown insurgents and are said to be strongholds of Taliban and Al Qaeda operatives.
