We should always have a contingency plan of evacuation in place for Pakistanis working abroad. Plans in reaction at the last hour are much weak, time consuming and costly! In addition to that, If we in our navel ships can pull out citizens of other countries, we should not shy away from assisting them. Irrespective of where they are from!

Good job by the Government. Our citizens need to be brought back as quick as possible.

People of Pakistan needs to learn some lessons for Libyan story. This can happen in Pakistan if u follow Qadri Sahib a Canadian. Libyan followed prominent leaders living in Virginia who went back to Libya as CIA agents and started revolution against Kaddafi. One of the so-called revolutionary is Colonel Hifter, ex colleague of Kaddafi. People should be very wary of semi-foreign elements.

In such times it is more the Ambassador and his staff over there than the govt. herself which matters. We Pakistanis by nature do not take responsibility for any of our duties. Just wait for the next salary and try to avoid doing any trouble taking task even if it involves the life of another Pakistani citizen.

I think they are safer in Libya!

Whenever I come to this site and read comments made by 'a shah, they are always negative comments made against Pakistan and to me, it does not make much sense why one would go a Pakistani News Site to speak against Pakistan. Well, not exactly sure but probably so he could sleep happily at night thinking he did a great job and made a huge difference by influencing the minds of others... For the record, Pakistan is actually much better than Libya

But this is a part of so-called Ummah . No need to fear .

There are lot more people in whole Libya than 3000-6000. May be this count is only for Tripoli (capital city) but in whole Libya there are more than 15000 Pakistanis other than who are in jail without any legal persecution. Also there are many Pakistanis in Libya who either don't have visa or passport at all. Their companies have abandoned them and they don't have enough money to buy their own tickets and travel on their own. I have personally called the embassy and they want us to be in Tripoli with 2 photographs & passport copy to register & issue a letter to get through the Tunisian Border. However, it is not possible for people who are living with or without families in other cities can reach Tripoli and have access to the embassy because there is no flights to Tripoli and it is too dangerous for foreigners to travel by road. Pakistani government like always taking credit only by issuing a paper to get into Tunisia (who are really strict with foreigners) and we have to have our own ticket before we cross the border. All other countries sent either their ships or airlines to bring their people back but as usual our government is taking credit for doing nothing. If we have to purchase our own ticket, we can easily travel from Benghazi to Labraq airport by road (which is still in service for foreignors' departures only) and take a flight from there to Pakistan via Dubai or any other country. But what about those people who can't afford to buy the tickets. Pakistan government never thought of their own people either inside or outside the country.

Pakistan embassy is still open despite most other countries shutting theirs with many of their citizens still stranded in Libya. Brave efforts by all those running the Pakistani embassy in Libya. We're not used to be cared for by our governments and maybe that's why some comments still reflect the self loathing attitude we've become accustomed to. I think its job well done by the Pakistani ambassador in libya and his team! Proud of you.
