LARKANA: Presiding over the launching ceremony of an anthology of Muhammed Ali Pathan at Pakistan Arts Council Larkana, Sindh’s Senior Minister for Education Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said the book itself contained many books within.

Going through the writer’s novelette ‘Musafatoon Yadin Joon’ presented in the form of free verse, Mr Khuhro said tragedies and hopes were well inter-knitted in it. The novelette had so much attraction that the reader could not dare leave it incomplete. The reader could not withhold his tears while reading it, he said.

Others who also appreciated the effort of Ali Pathan included Rasool Memon, Anwar Abro, Dr Makhmoor Bukhari, Aftab Surhiyo, Munwar Solangi, Naseer Kumbhar and Prof Abdul Waheed Chandio.

Former UAE ambassador Abdul Razzak Soomro, Zulfikar Qadri, Sikandar Abbasi and Dr Pirh Sakina Gaad also addressed the event held on Saturday night.

Symposium ends

The three-day symposium held under the auspices of Pakistan Hypertension League (PHL) at Chandka Medical College concluded here on Sunday with the note that less eating with 40 minutes mandatory brisk walk could prove as a strong shield against hypertension.

Symposium convener Prof Saeed Ahmed Sangi said that more than 1,200 renowned cardiologists and experts had read out their research papers and shared their experiences and studies with the participants in different sessions. They called for disseminating basic information about hypertension to the population residing in far-flung areas, he said.
