RAWALPINDI, Dec 6: Additional District Collector General Ch. Mohammad Ali Randhawa on Friday emphasised the need of starting the dengue surveillance campaign for next season.

“Health department will have to chalk out a plan in coordination with all the government departments to start the campaign in advance. There is a dire need to compile a booklet of duties of different government departments to address the issue in effective manners,” Mr Randhawa said while addressing a meeting of all the government departments here at DCO office.

He asked the health department officials to start a door-to-door dengue awareness campaign, involving Lady Health Workers (LHWs).

He said that the health department officials including EDO and DO should closely monitor the campaign.

He said three months would be enough to launch an effective campaign against dengue mosquito before it rears head in February.
