ATTOCK: Bodies of eight unidentified persons were recovered from a deserted well near Attock Haji Shah road, eight km away from here on Sunday morning, police said.

The police was informed about the bodies of persons aged between 22 to 32 years by a resident of the area on telephone.

The bodies were later recovered and shifted to DHQ Hospital Attock for postmortem.

District Police Officer Attock Dr. Akhtar Abbas said that the persons were probably killed at some other place almost four days ago and later their bodies were thrown in the well.

The DPO said that it seemed that the deceased were not the residents of Attock district.

To a question, the DPO said that apparently this was not a terrorist act and further investigation was underway.

He said that the exact cause of their death could be ascertained after autopsy.

Police  said the bodies had no bullet holes or obvious signs of violence.
