BAHAWALPUR: President of the World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) Syed Sultan Shah hopes Pakistan blind cricket association will be selected to host the 2018 Blind Cricket World Cup in Dubai.

Sultan, who is also chairman of the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council, said this while inaugurating the third edition of the T20 Blind Cricket Premier League at Dring Stadium here on Wednesday.

On the occasion, talking to Dawn, Sultan said if Pakistan was allotted this high-profile tournament, it would be an honour for the country because ten teams from across the world would be featuring in it.

He added, “I feel proud to say that presently blind cricket balls manufactured in Sialkot ars being used internationally.”

If the political situation between Pakistan and India remained normal, Sultan said, the next WBCC meeting would be held on Jan 30 in New Delhi.

This meeting, he said, would be followed by the Blind T20 World Cup in India where Pakistan team would be playing matches in three cities.

India is going to host the Blind T20 World Cup at nine different centres from Jan 31 to Feb 12.

In the inaugural match of the T20 Blind Cricket Premier League, Peshawar Panthers beat Azad Jammu and Kashmir by 28 runs.

Batting first, Peshawar Panthers scored 243-5 in the stipulated overs. In response, AJK could post 215-7.
