HYDERABAD: The owner of a generator repairing shop received bullet wounds while resisting an alleged robbery bid on Wednesday at his shop located in Hirabad.

According to wounded Rafique Shah, eight armed men riding four motorbikes broke into his shop and tried to deprive him of cash withdrawn from an ATM a couple of minutes ago. He put up a stiff resistance but the robbers opened fire wounding him.

However, SHO of the Market police station Munir Abbasi said it seemed to be the result of a dispute over some matter between the two sides.

He doubted that eight persons would come and ride away without snatching a single penny from the victim.

He said an investigation was under way.
