ISLAMABAD: In an astonishing exchange of questions and answers outside the Parliament House on Tuesday, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman claimed that “anyone killed at the hands of the United States” was “a martyr”, DawnNews reported.
The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl chief made the above remark in response to a question posed to him by media representatives as to whether Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan chief Hakimullah Mehsud, who was killed in a drone strike, qualified as a martyr.
Fazl criticised cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan and said the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) chief should refrain from taking solo flights on the issue of blocking Nato supplies going through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The JUI-F said it had been decided in the All Parties Conference (APC) that all political groups would work in unison on the matter.
Rehman called out to members of the TTP and reiterated that they should not allow derailment of the peace process in the wake of Hakimullah’s killing. He also underscored the importance of calling another APC on the matter.
Separately, opposition parties have been divided on the issue of Nato supplies to US forces in Afghanistan via KP.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Awami National Party (ANP) favour the continuation of Nato supplies. On the other hand, PTI, JUI-F and the Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) maintain that blocking Nato supplies would be effective in putting an immediate stop to drone attacks.

there is time and time one raising concern and other is mocking at them by launching strikes as they are weak to defend their own people and they unfit to halt or counter for the drones so they are taking advantage of it internal violence is dangerous than external the same is not learns the lesson by either side so toll is going in thousands to lakhs

There is no dearth of shameful people who call a murderer 'shaheed' merely for their cowardice. Indeed shaheen were those innocent Pakistani men, women and children and brave soldiers who lost their precious lives due to actions by this man.

Anne Patterson, the former U.S ambassador reported that you asked her if the US Govt would deal with you if you were elected as Prime Minister and cautioned the US Govt not to put all of its eggs in the basket of Benazir Bhutto. Ambassador noted that it was not US Govt policy to crown any particular leader in Pakistan

We know his family has been anti-Pakistan from the days of the British Raj and they continue to show support to anti-Pakistani terror organizations. By the way, that headwear of his alone is enough to make me laugh.

Men have suffered martyrdom for all sorts of opinions in politics and in religion; yet they could not therefore have all been in the right; although they could give no stronger evidence that they believed themselves in the right. Martyrdom is misnomer word in Islamic republic of Pakistan. It is very wrongly used

Hakeemullah Mehsud, martyr? This is the most ignorant statement ever came of a moulana. The man who caused thousands of its own Muslim women and children murdered cold blooded, who were all innocent, the one who was blind in choosing his targets, and the biggest serial killer of his time is suddenly turned into a martyr, because of the retarded view of a maulana. That shows how this maulana thinks. That shows that he, the maulana, wouldn't hesitate to to do the same, if he got a chance. Its an awesome example of how media manipulate things according to its agenda.Does it really matter if he is shaheed or not? Is Allah (S.W.T) waiting for our judgement to decide his fate? Allah knows alone, what is he. And if curiosity bites you to the extent that you feel liking knowing answer to this question then wait till everyone will be gathered on the day of judgment and trust me that's not far off. Him being a muslim, regardless of how sinning he may be, yet I ask Allah to forgive him and that is what beloved prophet has directed us to do. The JUI(F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman slaps a Fatwa, today, that calls 'Hakimullah Mehsud attained martyrdom and anyone killed by the USA is a martyr'; and that clarifies the 'mindest' of the Maulana-turned-politican many years ago (inherited his position from his father, who was also an Alim (Islamic Scholar and a Mufti) and founder of Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam - JUI(F)) whom some or most of us suspected as a 'disguised-Taliban'.
If the comments in this article is a simplistic indication, only 2 out of 22 people have supported his comments or 9% as compared to 2.78% only voted for his Party in the National Elections on 11 May 2013; thanks be to Allah (swt).

The term martyr is used entirely too much in South Asia and the Middle East, and applied haphazardly. No one is fighting a "holy war" against the Taliban or Al-Queda. They are being pursued for their relentless and brutal killing of people all over the world, most of whom are civilians. They wish to convert every human on the planet to their own interpretation of religion and law, or kill them. It is not a holy war, but a war of domination, control and brutality against anyone who opposes them, of any religion or nationality.
