ABBOTTABAD, Sept 3: As part of the ongoing action against land grabbers the municipal committee (MC) staff led by assistant commissioner, Abbottabad, Osama Ahmed Warraich got vacated the MC land from illegal occupants here on Tuesday.

The district administration has launched the anti-encroachment campaign after the provincial government’s directives to get the MC and district council land vacated from grabbers.

According to the MC officials, in one case one Khushdal Khan was allotted a small piece of 400 feet land on lease, but he had covered 2,766 feet by constructing offices and shops on it.

Heavy contingent of police accompanied the MC engineering staff to avert any untoward incident during the anti-encroachment drive.

Meanwhile, DIG investigation, Hazara range, Saeed Naveed has directed all the investigation staff in Hazara to keep close contact with the complainants and update them about progress of their cases on weekly basis.

He was speaking at the first meeting of investigating officers from Mansehra, Kohistan, Haripur, Torghar, Battagram and Abbottabad after assuming charge of the office of DIG investigation.

Mr Naveed asked them to clearly mention cell number of the applicant on the FIR. He said that an officer of the DSP rank would remain in touch with the applicants on their cell phone numbers.

He said that in case of any complaint by the applicant concerning demand for bribe the officials found guilty would have to face strict action.

He said that progress of the entire staff in Hazara division would be monitored and flaws in investigation would not be tolerated. —Correspondent
