SUKKUR, Aug 10: The Sindh High Court, Sukkur circuit bench, has taken suo motu notice of press reports about the kidnapping of a girl and her subsequent “sale.”

Sindhi newspapers had reported that Mohammad Usman Gaho kidnapped a girl in her early twenties from Orangi Town, Karachi three days ago.

Later, the man sold the girl for Rs150,000 to a 70-year-old man Dawood Gaho of Mangli in Sanghar district. The man solemnised Nikah with the girl against her will.

They left Sanghar and were now living in Hakeem Gaho village, Khewari Deh, Choondko taluka, Khairpur district, reports stated.

DIG Sukkur Ameer Ahmed Shaikh, DSP Choondko Fida Awan and SHO Khewari Ali Gulab Bhambhro on Friday appeared before the court in primary hearing.

The court directed them to produce the girl, Dawood Gaho and Usman Gaho on Monday.

It also summoned the parents of the girl to appear before court on Monday to tell whether or not their daughter was kidnapped.
