LADDAH, Oct 15: In the fourth attack in two days in South and North Waziristan, missiles fired by US drones hit a compound in the Bagher area on Friday night, killing at least three suspected militants.

An official of the local administration said on Saturday that nine missiles hit the compound in South Waziristan, owned by militant leader Maulvi Nazir who is considered to be a “good Talib”.

The fortress-like compound was destroyed in the attack. A tribal elder said that three bodies were recovered from the rubble. The deceased were identified as Hazrat Ali, Sher Ali and Amir Hamza.

A man injured in the attack was taken to a hospital in Wana.

Agencies add: “The strike killed four militants and wounded three others,” a senior security official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

However, AP quoted intelligence officials as saying that the US missiles killed six militants.
