RAWALPINDI, June 26: A Pakistani expatriate was deprived of 43,000 Saudi riyals and his luggage by three fake officials of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) while heading home from Benazir International Airport on Sunday, the victim said.

Though Zahid Shah, who arrived from Saudi Arabia, remained unhurt, his cousin Muzamil Shah, who had come to receive him at the airport, was shot and injured by the fake CIA officials after he refused to hand them the cash.

Zahid Shah said he and his cousin were heading home from the airport in a taxi when a car with three persons on board intercepted them at Sir Syed Chowk.

He said one of the fake officials was in police uniform. He said when the taxi driver stopped the vehicle on the roadside, the three men came there and identified themselves as CIA officials and asked for search.

He said during the search they snatched Saudi riyals valuing Rs1 million and luggage and escaped leaving his injured cousin near Rehmatabad overhead bridge.

Muzamil was shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital where he is stated to be in stable condition.

In a similar incident, a man was robbed of Euros 105,000 and Rs584,000 after four gunmen forced their way into his house in the Banni police area.

Mohammad Aslam lodged a complaint with the police that four gunmen entered his house and held all of them hostage.

He said the gunmen searched the house and looted cash, gold ornaments and later escaped.
