ISLAMABAD: Criminals shot and injured a man during a robbery in capital, police said on Saturday.

The injured was identified as Usman Khalid, they said, adding that he sustained a bullet injury on his ankle.

The police said that Khalid along with his friend Zia Mehmood was present at CDA I-10 stop near a police check post on I.J.P Road where three masked men came on a motorcycle and held them at gunpoint and later searched them for cash and valuables.

However, they did not find anything from Zia but snatched a bag from Khalid.

The robbers opened fire when Khalid put up resistance and snatched back his bag.

As a result Khalid sustained a bullet injury on his ankle while another bullet hit the vehicle’s tyre.

Later, the robbers escaped from the spot, and the injured was shifted to hospital.

A case has been registered at the Sabzi Mandi police station under section 394 of PPC, the police said.
