ATTOCK, Dec 18: The main accused in moneychanger’s murder case was sent to the district jail on judicial remand on Saturday, where his identification parade will be carried out on Sunday. SHO Saddar police Inspector Mohammad Shafique said that the accused, Fazaldad, an ex-bank manager and a friend of the deceased moneychanger Shah Rehman, was produced before the judicial magistrate on Saturday.

He said the investigation officer told the court that identification parade of the accused was required, therefore, he should be sent to the district jail for this purpose.

The court, admitting the plea, ordered the police to send the accused to the district jail. Now his identification parade will be carried out in front of complainant and eye-witnesses on Sunday, he said.

Police sources said the moneychanger, Shah Rehman, who was also the ex-manager of a private bank and cousin of DIG (operation) Islamabad Bani Ameen, in his dying statement to some of his family members said the main accused, Fazaldad, and three others were involved in the incident. Shah Rehman had said Fazaldad, also a former bank manager, had asked him to bring $50,000 to his home.

Sources said he was attacked near Sheenbagh village when he was on his way to deliver the amount to them.

Soon after the disclosure, a police team arrested Fazaldad in a surprise raid and recovered the car of the deceased moneychanger from some distance of Sheenbagh village with the help of a tracker.

After completion of identification process, police team will recover the looting amount of Rs4,260,000 and arrest other co-accused in the case, he added. —Correspondent
