KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Sunday claimed to have arrested a suspected terrorist belonging to the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) and recovered a grenade from him.

A CTD spokesperson said the department got a tip-off regarding the presence of a “trained terrorist of Fitna al-Hindustan” in the metropolis. Personnel of CTD and an intelligence agency jointly carried out a raid and arrested Fazal Haq, he added.

The spokesperson claimed that the held suspect was “planning to target sensitive installations and law enforcers on the orders of his foreign handlers”.

“The held terrorist had got training from a neighbouring country. Concerted efforts are underway to arrest his accomplices, facilitators and financers,” the spokesperson concluded.
