Section 144 imposed in three Sindh divisions

KARACHI: The commissioners of Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur divisions have imposed Section 144 within their respective areas to prohibit the gathering of more than five persons in view of the prevailing law and order situation in the country.

According to a notification issued on Thursday evening, the ban would remain in force from Sept 25 to 30 in Karachi Division.

Karachi commissioner has allowed police officials not below the rank of an inspector to register FIRs under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code if they witness a violation of the ban.
