Pakistan U-18 squad off to Haikou

LAHORE: Pakistan’s U-18 squad left for Haikou on Friday to participate in the Asian Volleyball Championship being held in the Chinese city this month.

The Pakistan squad is being led by Mohammad Irfan in the 16-nation continental event scheduled to be hyeld from July 12 to 18.

Besides Pakistan, the participating countries include Australia, Bah­rain, China, Hong Kong-China, Indonesia, India, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgy­z­stan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Philippines, Thailand and Chinese Taipei.

Pakistan squad: Moha­mmad Irfan (captain), Mohammad Talha Mehar, Mohammad Anas, Faiza­nullah, Faraz Ahmad, Asadullah, Fahad Ali, Mohammad Shahzaib, Wahab Abdullah, Saran Baig, Mohammad Waleed Khan, Hayat Sher Khan.

Officials: Khalid Waqar (manager), Kafaiatullah (head coach), Laiq Zaman, Moib Rasool (ass­is­tant coaches), Moh­ammad Sabtain (referee).
