KHYBER: The bullet-riddled body of a teenage student was found on Wednesday in Bara after he went missing a day earlier.

Police said that Malak Saad, a first year student of a private college, went missing on Tuesday evening soon after he left his home in Sheen Drand area of Bara. His bullet-riddled body was found in a deserted locality of Akkakhel on Wednesday morning.

Police said that they registered a case against unidentified persons and started investigations.

The incident is second of its type during the last three days as police had earlier found the body of a young girl, killed in similar fashion, in a dry stream in Ali Masjid locality of Jamrud on Monday morning. The identity of the slain girl is yet to be established.

Meanwhile, police in Landi Kotal on Wednesday registered FIRs against two locals for renting their properties to ‘illegal’ Afghan nationals.

Police officials said that notices were earlier issued to all the locals not to rent their personal properties to any illegal foreign national. They said that police were on a constant vigil against the presence of any illegal alien while also conducting surprise raids in different localities of Landi Kotal.

On Wednesday, they booked two residents of Sultankhel and Ghanikhel localities, who had rented their properties to illegal Afghan nationals.

Sources said that Afghan traders and shopkeepers in Landi Kotal Bazaar were selling their businesses and leaving voluntarily for Afghanistan via Torkham.

They said that an Afghan fabric dealer and a barber left for Afghanistan on Wednesday after disposing of their shops. The two had their cases pending before Peshawar High Court for granting them extension in their stay as they possessed some identity documents. The court declined them any further extension.

Sources said that more Afghan traders were also negotiating sale of their shops and merchandise to leave for Afghanistan as district administration conveyed them the message to wind up their businesses and leave for Afghanistan with ‘dignity and respect’.
